Default Compatibility Problem?

Hi there.

The problem I'm having is this:

I needed to create an animation for an assignment at college. I created this animation at home using Flash CS5, which I saved as a CS4 FLA file. Tested the SWF, and it was working fine. I come to college and test the SWF, it also then works fine.

Strangely though, as soon as I ran the .FLA file in Flash CS4 in college (the latest version college machines have installed is CS4, hence why I saved the .FLA originally as CS4), it seems to have screwed up my animation. Everything works perfectly as I am scrolling through the timeline, but as soon as I hit Ctrl + Enter to preview it in Flash Player, letters of the animation's text seem to go missing (which is quite impossible, since those letters are part of a word and were never seperate from that word in the first place), and my colour transitions on my text seem to have gone, too. Anyone have any idea at all as to what this could be?

It's looking to me like I'll have to redo it all if a solution isn't found, not something I want to be doing considering I spent a good solid week or so on this. Hence why I'm here, looking for solutions. Anyone have any ideas at all?

Thanks in advance, it would mean a lot to get this sorted out.

Some of your textfield might be set to dynamic, set them to static instead.

Hi there. Thanks for the quick reply!

Would dynamic text make a difference like that? Is dynamic text not supported in Flash CS4?

No it's just that dynamic texts with the latest Flash IDE versions require font embedding while static texts don't.
